Learning in public
The internet has democratized education allowing people to learn whatever they are interested in. The best part about anyones journey is that the internet is filled with people who are more than willing to give you feedback on what you’re working on. This is why I have decided to start multiple series covering various topics including coding, e-commerce and marketing. The goal for this is that people will learn what to do and most importantly not what to do.
Coding
Possibly the most scalable subject that is ever to exist is coding. The backbone of the internet are lines of code. All of the future products and services are built with code. Learning how to code is not necessary, but I believe having some technical knowledge will only give you an advantage if you wish to work in tech. This is why I will be covering the fundamentals in computer science which will include data structures, algorithms, html, css, js, sql, popular frameworks, resources and so on. The best way to learn all of these skills is by completing projects. I am really excited about this.
E-commerce
Retail changed forever once the internet was created. It created an alternative space for indivduals to offer products and services. Today e-commerce now dominates the way people consume goods and businesses that pivoted online were the ones to survive. Amazon continues to expand everyday proving that this is just the beginning for online consumerism. I will be helping local business migrate online so that they too can benefit from online sales. Multiple solutions are available making it possible to create personalized online stores in just a few hours. I too will be creating my own just for fun.
Marketing
The subject that ties both both of the ones above is marketing. It is an essential part of every business regardless of being online. People belive that all you need to gain customers is a great product or service. Some people also beleive that all you need is a market for whatever you are offering. At the end of the day all business require some form of marketing. I will be diving into the world of social media marketing.
